Tips for Ordering Samples
Many Manufacturers offer 1 or 2 free samples. These samples often include ostomy bags and accessories. There are several different manufactures and hundreds of product options to fit your needs and preferences. Ostomy products are not one-size-fits-all, so Manufacturer samples can help you find the products that work best for you.

Manufacturers vs Supplier
Manufacturers in the United States are not permitted to provide ongoing ostomy supplies. This is the job of Suppliers. Learn about the difference between Manufacturers and Suppliers here.
Before You Call
Before you contact a Manufacturer for samples, it’s helpful to know:
-
The type of ostomy you have (colostomy, ileostomy, urostomy).
-
The current size of your stoma.
Knowing this information helps identify the product samples best for you.
If you don’t know either of these, it’s okay. The people answering your call are trained to help.
Communicate Preferences
Communicate your needs when ordering samples. Are you looking for a specific product or feature? Are you looking for a product to resolve a specific issue? It’s okay if you have no idea what you need or what you’re looking for. The people answering the phone are trained to help you.
Mixing and Matching Ostomy Supplies
Often, manufacturer accessories (not pouching systems) are interchangeable. For example, you may use a pouching system from Manufacturer A, and barrier rings and adhesive remover from Manufacturer B or C. Every Manufacturer has their own proprietary formulary. Free samples can help you decide which you like best.
Your Opinion Matters
When you order samples, Manufacturers often ask if they can contact you to follow up on how you liked their samples. Your feedback is important to future product production, updates, and development. Please consider taking a few minutes to answer their questions.
